Qatar Stock Exchange, Borsa Istanbul Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation

Doha, August 30 (QNA) - Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and Borsa Istanbul signed here Sunday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in various fields. Rashid Bin Ali Al-Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange and Borsa Istanbul CEO Tuncay Dinc and his accompanying delegation signed the MoU. Speaking at the signing ceremony Al Mansouri said that the MoU comes as part of a series of agreements that have been signed between Qatar and Turkey as an expression of their willingness to cooperate and upgrade relations between them to new levels. He added that the signing of the memo is an introduction to forge cooperation between the two parties and it will be followed by a joint effort to put the agreement into practice in several areas. The parties are to harness their efforts and form a joint working teams to find appropriate mechanisms to implement the agreement on the ground. QSE of QSE expressed his pleasure over the signing of this MoU between the two parties, citing that it will contribute to the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. He noted that the memo comes as an expression of the desire of the concerned authorities in both countries to create an atmosphere of fruitful cooperation in various fields, expressing aspiration at the same time for a long-term, fruitful and constructive relationship between the two exchanges . Borsa Istanbul CEO Dinc expressed his confidence that the MoU will be a useful mechanism not only to raise the level of cooperation between the two exchanges but also to open up new prospects for business opportunities in Qatar and Turkey markets. HE added that Borsa Istanbul has sought to work closely with QSE, saying stock exchanges are tools for growth and cooperation, we should strengthen our bilateral relations. In this sense we would like to express about our overwhelming happiness to see this cooperation between Turkey and Qatar. In this regard, we will form joint working committees to meet on a regular basis and the two sides will meet twice a year in Istanbul and Doha alternately.(QNA)
