Qatari Businessmen Association Discusses Promoting Cooperation with Birmingham Delegation

Doha, January 15 (QNA) - A meeting was held here on Sunday between the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) and a British delegation headed by the Leader of Birmingham City Council John Clancy, currently visiting Doha. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between them and the investment opportunities in the city of Birmingham. They also discussed preparations for the Business and Investment Forum to be held in both London and Birmingham during the period from March 27 - 28. HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qasem Al-Thani, Chairman of QBA highlighted the importance of working on the success of the Forum, and taking advantage of the presence of business leaders from both parties to discuss the partnership and cooperation opportunities, especially as the United Kingdom is one of the largest trading partners of Qatar. For his part John Clancy expressed pleasure for visiting the State of Qatar for the first time to discuss partnership, cooperation and investment in the city of Birmingham, hoping the visit would be culminated with success. During the meeting, the Birmingham City Council team gave a presentation on the development plans of the city as well as its advantages, being the second largest British city. It also highlighted new investment opportunities in various sectors and the concessions given by the British government to attract investors. (QNA)
