Qatar's Air Passenger Traffic Rises 11.36% in July

Doha, September 16 (QNA) - Qatar's air passenger traffic is up 11.36% and cargo movement up 12.76% in July this year compared to July 2013. Releasing the air traffic data, Hamad International Airport (HIA) Tuesday said, its monthly passenger statistics has increased compared to those at the old Doha International Airport (DIA). "A total of 2,160,843 travellers departed, transferred and arrived into Qatar during July 2014, showcasing the new airport's global standing as an international transit hub," HIA said. All cargo operations are now operating from the new airport where the facility is fully automated, creating a seamless experience for both the cargo agents and customers. HIA's Chief Operating Officer Badr Al Meer said, "We are happy to see that so many more passengers are choosing to fly to Qatar and through our new, world-class facility. "Over the coming months and years we will continue to grow and ensure every passenger has the best possible experience at our airport, whether they be departing, arriving or in transit." Qatar's new airport ensures passengers are provided with a comfortable, sophisticated and seamless enjoyable travel experience, with an enormous variety of stores, restaurants and lounges offered to passengers, along with a collection of original art pieces located throughout the airport by local and world famous artists, HIA added.
