Qatar's Minister of Economy Meets Sri Lankan Minister of Industry and Commerce

Doha, May 16 (QNA) - HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani met on Wednesday with HE Minister of Industry and Commerce of Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Risad Badhiutheen, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting reviewed the bilateral relations between both countries and discussed the joint cooperation aspects, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields and the ways to boost and develop them. The State of Qatar and Sri Lanka hold a number of trade agreements such as the economic, trade and technical cooperation agreement signed on May 15, 2012 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In addition to the agreement to encourage and protect mutual investments signed in Doha on May 22, 2012. The trade volume between both countries in 2017 was valued at nearly QR 344 million. There are about 210 Sri Lankan companies in the State of Qatar with a joint venture capital and are operating in furniture trading, contracting and services fields. (QNA)
