QDF, QRC Sign $10 Million Agreement for Libyan Refugees

Doha, July 07 (QNA) - Qatar Development Fund (QDF) signed on Tuesday a $10 million agreement with Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) to provide relief assistance to Libyan refugees affected by the crisis in Libya. QDF General Manager Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari and QRC Secretary General Saleh Ali Al Muhanadi signed the agreement. QDF General Manager said the agreement came in view of the difficult human conditions in Libya which led a number of Libyan families to flee as well as within Qatar Development Fund's attention to help the affected families in Libya to alleviate the difficult circumstances in which they live. Al Kuwari added that Qatar Red Crescent was selected to implement, on behalf of QDF, Qatar's $10 million humanitarian donation inside Libya, adding that this donation is mainly targeting health and food sectors. QRC Secretary General extended his sincere thanks and appreciations for Qatar Development Fund for selecting QRC to deliver this aid and implement this project, adding that this donation will allow them to cover more people in different parts of Libya. He added that QRC in cooperation with Libya Red Crescent and other concerned Libyan authorities had initiated a strategy to ensure quick implementation of this project. (QNA)
