QFC Launches Special Program for the Hearing Impaired Community

Doha, December 04 (QNA) - Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority, in association with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA), have launched a special program to offer hearing impaired high school graduates tailored courses to prepare them for the workforce. With the theme of "Give the hearing impaired community a voice - breaking down barriers for those living with hearing disabilities" the program aims to ensure deaf and hard of hearing students have equal access to and an equal opportunity at higher education programs and services to better equip them for life after graduation and to ease their transition to the workforce. Commenting on the launch of the program, Fahad Zainal, Adviser to the CEOs office, at the QFC Authority stated: "Inclusion and accessibility are two of our top priorities when it comes to CSR. Entities that provide educational opportunities, other than public schools, colleges, and universities, have a responsibility to make sure they are accessible to deaf and hard of hearing individuals." He continued "For those students, special programs should be available to assist them achieve their higher education goals and to ensure they have equal access to and an equal opportunity to higher education programs and services which can provide and lead to many rewarding career choices. We are proud to have launched this program specially dedicated to the hearing impaired community and we will continue to provide support and assistance for years to come." On his part Dr Abdulaziz Al Horr, CEO at QFBA, stated: "We develop our programs and courses at QFBA with the aim of empowering young as well as established professionals to reach new heights through effective education, influential inspiration and access to essential tools and resources, all while unshackling them from restraining beliefs and conventional thinking. Ultimately, our goal is make an impact on society, on its way to realizing the Qatar National Vision 2030, with a focus on its human and social development pillars. This program is a prime example of such efforts and a clear proof that everyone has the opportunity and the potential to achieve excellence and tap in to their capabilities, when they know how to overcome challenges and break barriers." The course is set to run for 9 weeks with students attending 4 weekly sessions for duration of 4 hours each. Students will be presented with QFC & QFBA Certificates at the completion of the course.
