RasGas Support Team Records 17 Years Safety Milestone

Doha, April 13 (QNA) - A support unit of RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) completed a Safety Milestone of 17 years without a Lost Time Incident and 13 years without a Recordable Incident. In a statement Sunday, RasGas said, "The Offshore Support team (Shorebase) of the Offshore Asset Department of RasGas recently celebrated completing the safety milestones." RasGas Chief Executive Officer Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi lauded the Offshore Asset team for its unparalleled safety achievement. "The achievement is the result of giving primary importance to safety in all our work," he said, at an event held at Al Waha Club, Al Khor to mark the achievement. "As a world-class global energy supplier striving for excellence, these safety records demonstrate our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our operations. I am very proud that implementing safe work behaviours is an ongoing focus in RasGas. Since our offshore support operations began 17 years ago, our Shorebase team has sustained all offshore production and drilling activities efficiently without a Lost Time Incident. The commitment to follow RasGas' safety strategies, systems and processes in daily work made this possible, Al Mohannadi said. Commenting on the record, Offshore Asset Manager Atef Al-Mohsin said, "RasGas is a trendsetter in safety. The Shorebase team comes to work every day knowing their commitment to safety is a daily task. It demonstrates our ultimate goal of an incident-free workplace is achievable." Quantifying the achievement, Emergency Management Systems Manager Faisel Al-Hajri said, "A successful 17 years Lost Time Incident-Free and 13 years without a recordable incident is approximately 6,200 days of safe work, which adds up to an achievement of almost nine million man hours without lost time injury.
