REVENUE FROM COMMUNICATIONS INCREASES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to statistics by first half of this year, the revenue from communications reached MNT 354.2 billion, increasing by MNT 9.8 billion or 2.8% against the previous year. It also reached MNT 183.0 billion, increased by MNT 11.7 billion or 6.8% in second quarter of 2015 against the previous quarter. Income from population accounted for 76.4% of the total revenue of the communication industry, showing an increase of 2.7% against the previous year. Income of the postage and communication services reached MNT 270.5 billion in first half of this year, increasing by MNT 16.7 billion or 6.6%. The number of landline telephone users reached 245.1 thousand in first half of 2015, increasing by 45.9 thousand or 23.1% against the previous year. The number of cellular phone users was 3,418.4 thousand, showing a decrease of 219.8 thousand or 6.0% against the previous year. In first six months of 2015, the number of cable TV users reached 356.7 thousand, going up by 50.4 thousand or 16.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
