Rezaei: Iran Mulling Formation Of Trade, Economic Alliance In Region

Tehran, May 7, IRNA - Secretary of Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei said on Sunday as European countries has formed a unified Europe, Iran is also thinking of such a trade and economic alliance in the region. He made the remarks in the sixth National Conference on Electronic Economy and Trade in Tehran. Rezaei said studies prove that peace and security in the region will face serious challenges unless a unified region or regional alliance is formed. He said at a time of globalization there is no need to conquer other countries because globalization itself paves the way for countries to access larger markets, he added. The Secretary of the Expediency Council said Iran needs a market of 500 million people to develop and therefore it must focus its attention on the region because through interaction with regional countries it can influence the world./end
