RI, S.Korea To Hold Public Private Partnership Roadshow

Jakarta, Sept 14 (ANTARA) - Indonesia and South Korea will hold a public private partnership roadshow on September 18 and 19 in Jakarta, according to the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). "The event is particularly designed to tap information on various investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector through a public private partnership scheme," the agency`s director for public private partnership development, Bastary Pandji Indra said here on Thursday. The roadshow is based upon an agreement between Indonesia and South Korea to increase their bilateral trade to US$40 billion by 2014 and US$100 billion by 2020, he said further. He went on to add that the Indonesian chief economic minister and the South Korean minister of knowledge economy had signed an agreement on February 28 this year to establish a joint secretariat in Jakarta. "Therefore, it is necessary to hold such an event as part of efforts to share knowledge and experience of each country towards carrying out development programs in the infrastructure sector through a public private partnership scheme," he said. Additionally, he said that the event is aimed at creating cooperation opportunities and facilitate business networking for the public private sector in order to establish mutually beneficial cooperation. The meeting will be attended by 50 participants from South Korea and 100 participants from Indonesia.
