Rolls Royce interested in investing in EEC

LONDON, June 23 (TNA) -- Britain’s high-end car manufacturers, Rolls Royce is keen to invest in manufacturing aircraft spare parts in the Thai government-sponsored Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) zone. Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana, who accompanied Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha's official visits to Britain and France, said after his discussions with Warren East, CEO of Rolls Royce, that the car manufacturer is conducting a feasibility study on investing in the EEC to produce and supply aircraft parts to countries in Asia. If the investment is materialised, it would be one out of 10 industrial activities targetted by the Thai government, said Mr Uttama. Rolls Royce has a high confident on the Thai government’s 4.0 strategy and the Thai industrial advancements presently, he said. Mr Uttama during a seminar entitled ‘Transforming Thailand’ at a hotel in London ensured British businessmen to have confident in Thailand 4.0 policy which is aimed at moving four economic sectors. The Thailand 4.0 policy, currently drive by the government, calls for a huge investment on improving basic infrastructures of transportation modes, developing targeted industries, developing business operators and skilled labourers, and amending business laws in Thailand to facilitate local and foreign investors.
