Rouble weakening not to affect Russia-China trade - China state administration

BEIJING, December 18. /TASS/. A weakening rouble observed recently will not have a tangible impact on development of Russian-Chinese trade relations and foreign capital inflow in the country, official of Chinese State Administration of Foreign Exchange Wang Yungui said. “China and Russia are close trade partners and a sound trade between them will continue,” he said, noting that the rouble situation did not affect foreign capital inflow in China. Meanwhile, the official noted that China was concerned over a falling rouble and was following closely emerging situation. Chinese enterprises and financial institutions should use instruments of swap and forward deals to avoid risks, Xinhua news agency quoted Wang Yungui as saying. According to a report of Chinese main customs directorate, from January to November 2014 Russian-Chinese trade went up 6.9 percent year-on-year to reach $86.75 billion. Chinese export in Russia grew by 9.5 percent year-on-year for the reported period to $48.79 billion. Russian import increased by four percent to $37.97 billion. Read more
