Russia and Turkmenistan note progress in trade and economic cooperation - Lavrov

ASHGABAT, January 28. /TASS/. Russia and Turkmenistan note substantial progress in trade and economic cooperation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday after the meeting with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. "We considered all aspects of our cooperation broadly and fundamentally taking account of those agreements that were reached by the presidents of Russia and Turkmenistan, including during their recent contacts at the end of November in Tehran," Lavrov said. "We noted substantial progress in trade and economic cooperation from the point of view of results and especially prospects," he added. The Russian foreign minister reminded that another session of the inter-governmental commission and contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries are planned this year. "Our common assessment is that these tendencies should be supported in every possible way," he added. Read more
