Russia-China investment cooperation yields good return - RDIF CEO

BEIJING, June 7. /TASS/. Investment cooperation between Russia and China yields good return and thus is very profitable, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and co-head of the Russia-China Investment Fund (RCIF) Kirill Dmitriev said Thursday. "It is important that those are productive investments, which is why investors know that the cooperation between Russia and China yields good return. We have demonstrated it through the example of 25 successful projects," he said. "Meanwhile, around 30% of all our investments with China are investments in technological projects, where we see a great breakthrough," Dmitriev added. According to CEO, investments in infrastructure, including such projects as Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg and a railroad bridge between Russia and China, is another very important area of the Fund’s investments. Dmitriev expects "a sharp growth of additional investments" in the near future. "We are going to have active discussions with China Development Bank CDB and AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank), and we think that we together can allocate substantial funds for development of Russian infrastructure," he explained. "And what is important here is that China has experience of construction of high-quality infrastructure," CEO said, adding that the Fund will cooperate "both with China Development Bank and AIIB on joint investments in Russia’s infrastructure projects."
