Russia, China may set up special fund to finance innovative projects - Medvedev

BEIJING, November 1. /TASS/. Russia and China may set up a special fund to finance innovative projects, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday at a news conference on the results of the 22nd regular meeting of Russian and Chinese heads of governments. "We will pay more attention to the innovation sphere, we will study the issue of setting up a special fund to finance innovative research," he said. The prime minister said that Russia was not just boosting trade volumes, but also implementing major projects, including trans-border ones. In his opinion, one of them will be a transport corridor linking China, Russia and European Union countries. He expressed hope that this project will soon be brought into life. Medvedev also mentioned the Russian-Chinese project to create a wide-body aircraft and a heavy transport helicopter. Read more
