Russia, Indonesia sign memorandum of cooperation in atomic energy

MOSCOW, June 2 /TASS/. The Rosatom State Corporation for Atomic Energy and Indonesia have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of nuclear energy in Indonesia. Rosatom’s Deputy Head Kirill Komarov and the head of Indonesia’s National Agency for Atomic Energy signed the document at the ATOMEXPORT-2015 International Forum on Tuesday. Rosatom plans to develop active cooperation with Indonesia in the field of development of nuclear technologies. In April 2015, the Russian-Indonesian consortium won a tender for the construction of a 10-MW multifunctional high-temperature gas-cooled reactor in Indonesia, TASS reported earlier. Russia has also struck an atomic energy cooperation deal with Ghana. Nikolai Spassky, the deputy head of the Rosatom State Corporation for Atomic Energy, and Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Oil Industry John Jinapor signed an inter-governmental agreement at the ATOMEXPO-2015 International Forum. In June 2012, Rosatom and Ghana’s Ministry of Energy signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the use of atomic energy for peaceful purpose. The Memorandum envisages concrete areas of cooperation, including assistance in the creation of infrastructure for developing nuclear power industry in Ghana. Read more
