Russia offers Indonesia joint projects at competitive prices - vice-premier

JAKARTA, April 19. /TASS/. Russia is interested in close economic cooperation with Indonesia and is ready to implement joint projects at competitive prices, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on Sunday. The vice-premier is heading the Russian delegation at the World Economic Forum on East Asia that started in Jakarta on Sunday. "Our prices are very competitive, especially now after the ruble’s recent devaluation. We can offer a lower price than others. This is very important," the Russian vice-premier said. Dvorkovich said he intended to discuss with participants of the World Economic Forum on East Asia and also with the Indonesian government "the projects worth hundreds of millions of US dollars." The projects, in particular, relate to railway construction, the expansion of trade and investment, aluminum production, aircraft-building, and also the use of nuclear energy, the Russian vice-premier said. The Indonesian government earlier announced it was considering building a 10MW nuclear research reactor. "We have the best offers in the field of atomic power engineering," the Russian vice-premier said. "Russia has built 15 nuclear power plants across the world. No other country can boast such an experience," Dvorkovich said. "I’ll discuss these projects with my counterparts in the Indonesian government," Dvorkovich said, adding Moscow expected a visit by Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo to Russia already this year.
