Russia Ready To Build Electric Power Plants For Iran: Russian Minister

Moscow, July 3, IRNA – Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said Wednesday his country is ready to build electric power plants for Iran. During a meeting in Moscow with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mahdi Sanaei, Novak expressed satisfaction with enhanced cooperation between the two countries in energy sector. Novak said that major steps have been taken in line with an agreement between the presidents of both countries to give a boost to Tehran-Moscow energy cooperation. He said that building electric power plants for Iran is high on the agenda of Moscow. In the meantime, the Iranian ambassador said Iranian officials attach special significance to increased relations with Russia. He said that along with enhanced cooperation in energy sector, efforts should be made in related fields such as banking and insurance. The Russian energy minister had said in May that Iran was mulling working with Russia on energy-related projects worth $10 billion.
