Russian-Asian forum of business projects to be held in Vladivostok in late August 2015

VLADIVOSTOK, December 25. /TASS/. A Russian-Asian forum of business projects, Mayak, will be held at the Far Eastern Federal University’s campus on Island Russky in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok in the second half of August 2015, Alexei Starichkov, director of the international cooperation and tourism department of the Primorsky Territory, said on Thursday. By now, in his words, about 600 businessmen, a forth of whom are from East and South-East Asia, have already confirmed their participation. “In 2014, about 250 representative delegations from Asian visited Vladivostok,” he said. “There is direct effect of such events - guests stop at hotels, use services of local companies, restaurants, cafes. But there is a much more profound goal of this work - to establish long-term partner relations. I am sure that the event we plan will take this very format.” The forum will focus on topical problems of cooperation. Participants will look at examples of successful business cases of cooperation between Russia and Asian countries and will present their own projects. Among participants there will be both young and experiences businessmen who will speak about the current market situation, economic and political developments, take part in roundtable meetings and give their recommendations. The format of the forum also provides for business negotiations between representatives of Russian and Asian companies interested in mutual cooperation. It is expected that projects to be presented at the forum will cover such sectors as farming, construction and development, retails and internet trade, information technologies, tourism, hospitality and industrial production.
