Russian businessmen interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan - senate speaker

BAKU, April 12. /TASS/. Russian businessmen are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan particularly because the situation in the country is stable, Russian Federation Council (the upper house of parliament) Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, who is on an official visit to Baku, said on Friday. "I know that there is great interest in cooperation with your country because you the political and social situation here is stable and the country has reached a good level of development," Matviyenko said at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. She pointed out that there were about 700 businesses with Russian investment in Azerbaijan, 200 of which are owned by Russians. "There certainly should be a place for Russian businessmen here," she emphasized.
