Russian energy minister to visit Pakistan over North-South gas pipeline project in late September

MOSCOW, September 4. /TASS/. Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday he plans to visit Pakistan in late September to hold negotiations on the North-South gas pipeline project. "The agreement [with Pakistan on the construction of the North-South gas pipeline - TASS] is ready for signing. I will soon make a trip to sign the agreement on the construction of this pipeline. I think my visit will take place in late September," Novak said in an interview with the Russia Today television channel. According to earlier reports, the Russian government endorsed on August 6 a draft agreement with Pakistan on the North-South gas pipeline. The 25-year agreement provides for a possibility of automatic prolongation every five years. Read more
