Russian Export Center to open representative office in Shanghai by year-end - representative

SHANGHAI, November 15. /TASS/. The Russian Export Center (REC) focusing on promotion of national non-resource export overseas will open its official representative office in Shanghai by the year-end, REC representative in China Sergei Lebedev told TASS on Wednesday. "The REC plans to open its full-fledged official representative office in Shanghai, China, at the end of the year," Lebedev said. "Russian exporters are anticipated to be able to use infrastructure of the representative office to solve specific tasks of promoting Russian export products in China," he said. The Russian Export Center opened the first demo hall of Russian foods in Shanghai earlier today. "Shanghai is a pilot project of organizing tasting and demonstration pavilions. The pavilion anticipates presence of foods made by Russian producers, which deliver them at their expense and exhibit on pavilion shelves free of charge. This is made for the purpose of making the Chinese business or consumers familiar with our products and for assessment of the market potential," Lebedev said. Similar demo halls are also planned for opening in Vietnam and the UAE, the REC told TASS. Read more
