Russian Primorsky Region’s commerce chamber to expand ties with Vietnam

HANOI, November 19. /TASS/. Representatives of Russian Primorsky Region’s business circles are keen to expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners and plan to participate actively in developing trade and economic relations between Russian regions and the republic, President of the Union Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Primorsky Territory Boris Stupnitsky told TASS on Tuesday following a business visit to the country. A delegation of businessmen from the Russian region has visited Hanoi, Vietnam’s largest business center, the southern city of Ho Chi Minh and the country’s fastest growing central port city of Da Nang. The parties discussed the possibilities and areas for boosting ties and business cooperation between businessmen of the Primorsky Region and Vietnam. Trade turnover between the Primorsky Region and Vietnam amounted to $36.5 mln in first nine months of 2019, Stupnitsky said, adding that it is not fully in line with the potential. "Exporters of the Primorsky Region are interested in entering the Vietnamese agriculture market," he noted. The parties also discussed expansion of cooperation between Russian regions and Vietnam in the tourism sector at the meetings within the framework of the visit. Read more
