Russian rotocraft maker to take part in China’s major helicopter exhibition

TIANJIN (China), August 29. /TASS/. Russian Helicopters rotocraft maker will take part in China’s fourth international helicopter exhibition, the exhibition’s organizers said in materials obtained by TASS on Tuesday. The China Helicopter Exposition will bring together 403 companies from 22 countries, including such major rotocraft and aviation equipment manufacturers as Airbus Helicopters (formerly, Eurocopter Group), Bell Helicopter, Leonardo (formerly, Finmeccanica), Sikorsky and China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC). The exposition will be held on an area of 160,000 square meters. Apart from helicopters, the exhibition will feature engines, avionics, unmanned aerial vehicles, emulators, aircraft models and ground-based maintenance centers. The exhibition’s guests will also be able to view at least six demonstration flights: the airshow will involve China-made Z-10, Z-11 and Z-19 combat attack helicopters. The visitors will also see a China-made AV500 helicopter-type drone. The army aviation of the ground forces of China’s armed forces will for the first time demonstrate its own stand to feature armament, robotics and aviation equipment models. China Helicopter Exposition is China’s largest helicopter exhibition. It was founded in 2011 and has been held on a regular basis every two years ever since. This year, it will be held on September 14-17. It will be open only for helicopter industry and media representatives during its first two days and will open its doors for the public at large on September 16. Read more
