S Africa eyes more Thai visitors, investment

BANGKOK, April 1 (TNA) - South Africa has invited more Thai people and business operators to visit and invest in the country, which is dubbed the Rainbow Nation. South African Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Ruby Marks said at a media networking session, organised by her embassy in Bangkok on March 31, that she would like to see more of Thailand in South Africa, including the number of tourist arrivals and investment projects. The South African top envoy pointed out that Thailand and South Africa have had sound diplomatic relations for 21 years, during which both sides have particularly strengthened bilateral ties and cooperation on trade, investment and tourism. The South African ambassador, thus, persuaded more Thai people and business operators to visit and to invest in South Africa to experience by themselves why the country is dubbed the "Rainbow Nation", stressing that South Africa is far away from countries where the deadly Ebola virus is active and South Africa is safe for travels. According to the South African top envoy, South Africa is also keen to learn on Thailand's tourism management system and jewelry skills so that the knowledge will be applied for implementations in her home country.
