S Africa interested in agricultural investment in W Nusa Tenggara

Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara, Sep 10 (Antara) - South African Ambassador to Indonesia Pakamisa Augustine Sifuba is interested in the potential and resources in West Nusa Tenggara province, particularly agriculture. "I see West Nusa Tenggara has great potentials in agriculture and road infrastructure," the ambassador here on Thursday. According to Sifuba the potentials in Nusa Tenggara have similarities with those in South Africa, among others agriculture, livestock and handicraft industry. Moreover, in South Africa, agriculture now becomes the leading sector where 38,000 people work. She said that 98 percent of South African economic sector is currently supported by the agricultural sector which is managed in a modern way. South Africa is one of the exporting countries for agricultural commodities, livestock and plantation produce. "We hope that the potentials of the two countries can be developed," Sifuba said. She added that the South African government will explore cooperation with the provincial administration of West Nusa Tenggara. Vice Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Muhammad Amin said the province's potentials include tourism sector, global hub development plan, creative economy, cattle, corn and seaweed.
