SCB:Thai economy is expanding in 2nd half 2014

BANGKOK, June 23 (TNA) - Bangkok-based Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) says that the Thai economy is growing in the second half of this year, thanks to the returning to normalcy of the domestic situation, facilitating local operators to do their businesses at full scales. SCB President Kannikar Chalitaporn made the assessment on Monday, recommending that the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) hurriedly strengthen national economic fundamentals to ensure long-term growth. Regarding the NCPO's planned mega-investment projects for national infrastructure development, the SCB president suggested that authorities' right choices of the projects will help boost the domestic economic expansion beneficial to the public and the nation.
