SCO, BRICS members to join forces to develop small businesses

UFA, November 9. /TASS/. The member-states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization /SCO/ and BRICS /Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa/ will develop a strategy of small business cooperation until 2030. That is according to a joint resolution of the member-states issued on Monday following the first SCO and BRICS Small Businesses Forum, which was held in Ufa on October 21-23. The joint resolution contains 37 proposals on legislation, foreign trade, finance, education and human resources policies, as well as the recommendations to the regional authorities. In particular, the forum participants proposed to launch a special website to support the activities of entrepreneurs from the SCO and BRICS countries. It is also planned to make a catalog of best practices used in the member-states and a register of infrastructure projects. The initiatives also include the search, selection and training, promotion and support the most promising joint projects. The creation of the SCO creation was proclaimed on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai (China) by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The SCO member states occupy a territory of around 30 million 189 thousand square kilometers, which makes up three-fifths of the Eurasian continent, and have a population of 1.5 billion, which makes up a quarter of the planet's population.
