SCO heads of government plan to adopt statement on financial cooperation - secretary-general

MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. The participants in the December meeting of the heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) may adopt a statement on cooperation in the financial sphere, SCO Secretary-General Dmitry Mezentsev told on Monday a meeting of the Integration Club under the chairmanship of Russia’s Federation Council. "In September China hosted a meeting of the heads of agencies in charge of economic activities. At this meeting, preparations were underway for the session of the council of heads of government to be held in December," he said. "Currently, work is in progress on drafting a project activities support program until 2021, which will be presented to the heads of government," Mezentsev said. The secretary-general also recalled that work had been underway for a long time on setting up the SCO bank and the special account of the SCO Development Fund. "One of the statements, which we hope will be adopted at the meeting of the heads of state, will be a statement on the continuation of work and cooperation in the financial sphere," he said. The meeting of the heads of government of the SCO member-countries will be held in December in China in accordance with the 6+6 formula (Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan + Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Belarus).
