Seventeen U.S, Small Enterprises To Invest In Indonesia

Jakarta, May 22 (ANTARA) - Seventeen small enterprises from the United States are planning to invest in Indonesia, according to Vice Chairman of Indonesia Parliamentary Caucus Bobby Adhitoyo Rizaldi. "According to the plan, the 17 companies will establish factories in Indonesia and have a business- to-business cooperation with their counterparts in Indonesia in sectors such as electricity, health, cosmetic, mining, and machinery," he said here on Monday. Bobby explained in the past US companies exported goods to Indonesia through their factories in Singapore. "US companies tend to establish their factories in Singapore, because Singapore charges seven percent in tax, which is lower than Indonesia`s 28 percent," he said. However, Bobby has expressed optimism that Indonesia can still attract foreign investors with its tax incentive policy. "If the investment put in Indonesia is big and able to provide jobs for the locals, the government will give an interesting incentive to the investors," he explained.
