Seventeenth Owned Drilling Rig Put Into Operation

Tehran, Oct 11, IRNA – A drilling manager at the National Drilling Company says the 70th drilling rig owned by the company has joined the fleet and put into operation in one of the operational theaters. Gholamreza Al-e Mahmoud further remarked that with the addition of the rig the number of onshore and offshore drilling rigs, either owned or rented, which are currently active in this company reached 75. He said the new rig is of heavy onshore type and is equipped with modern electronic, hydraulic, drill watch and top drive systems. It has also the capability of installing drilling waste system. According to the official, the 152 feet rig is capable of drilling development and exploratory oil and gas wells up to a depth of 6 thousand meters. With regard to the observation of environmental standards in the Oil Ministry it is capable of installing drilling waste system. Al-e Mahmoud said repair and completion of oil and gas wells are the main activities of his company – Onshore Drilling-3 – which covers activities in Khuzestan, Kohkiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad and the Persian Gulf islands. /end
