Sirim Qas International Launches Bahrain Branch

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- Sirim Bhd subsidiary, Sirim Qas International Sdn Bhd, has officially launched a new branch in Manama, Bahrain. In a statement Friday, Chairman, Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said the company had selected Bahrain for the branch due to the country's strategic location, attractive investment opportunities and reputation as a business centre as well as modern service provider in the region. "Sirim Qas International will benefit from Bahrain's strong growth prospects, and take the opportunity to use the country as a base to expand business in the Middle East," he added. The company also planned to become the Notified Body for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to help Malaysian manufacturing companies and neighbouring countries obtain the Gulf Marking. This will allow them to penetrate the GCC market and ease bilateral trade between the countries. -- BERNAMA
