Six Malaysians For World Finals Of Heavyweight Driving Challenge

SIBU (Sarawak, Malaysia), Aug 18 (Bernama) -- There will be six Malaysians at the world finals of the inaugural Shell Rimula Heavyweight Driving Challenge in London next month. The six are Chan Meng Fei of JM Motor Auto Gallery, Alor Setar, Khoo Teik Seng (Megasen Sdn Bhd, Penang), Liau Chia Chin (Eastrade Enterprise, Miri), Loh Yew Sing (Wei Sin Trading,Sandakan), Tan Chin Purn (Tamex Timber Sdn Bhd, Miri), Tang Chung Lay ( Rimbunan Hijau General Trading, Sibu). They will face fellow finalists from 12 other countries in testing their heavy-duty driving skill which calls for driving a range of heavy vehicles and negotiating a series of obstacles. Shell Rimula is hosting the contest. Their names were announced at an appreciation dinner here Saturday night which was also attended by more than 450 Shell Rimula loyal customers from throughout the country. Also present was the South East Asia Shell Lubricants Cluster General Manager Troy Chapman and Shell Rimula Global Brand Manager, Seow Lee Ming. Troy in his speech said Shell valued every opportunity to interact with its customers and understand their business needs. "We believe we have succeeded in reaching out to the many hardworking truckers out there via our Shell Rimula Technology lab roadshow and our increasingly popular global promotion, now into its third year," he added. The competition preliminaries from April 1-June 30 this year was open to all purchasers of the heavy duty diesel engine oil and received a record 69,000 entries from those in the logistics and timber to agriculture and construction sectors. -- BERNAMA
