Smart Reader Aims To Expand Into Nigeria, Hong Kong, China

By Azlee Nor Mahmud KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- Smart Reader Worldwide Sdn Bhd aims to have presence in Nigeria, Hong Kong and China in the next two to three years, its executive director, Kevan Ong said. He said while Smart Reader's presence in Nigeria could be a springboard to the African continent, it was looking at China and Hong Kong for further growth. "China is a huge market and we are looking at expanding into other countries as well," he told Bernama. Smart Reader Kids centres are already established in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Philippines, Thailand, and Jordan. Ong said Asia is a very big place and Smart Reader would also look at establishing footprint in potential markets such as India and even venture into Eastern Europe. Smart Reader Worldwide recently signed memorandums of understanding with franchisees from the UAE, Australia and Indonesia for the setting up of Smart Reader Kids centres. Having grown to a network of over 300 franchise centres in Malaysia and over 150 centres worldwide, the Smart Reader Kids is dedicated to the enhancement of the thinking and learning power of children. "Smart Reader Kids programme is for children aged three to six. "It's a complete programme as it follows national syllabus which covers subjects such as English, mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia (Malay language), science, Agama Islam (Islamic teaching), moral studies, music, movement arts and crafts, and even kinder cooking that teaches good table manners," Ong added. The Smart Reader Worldwide group offers a range of learning programmes that cater to the needs of children and adults. -- BERNAMA
