South Korea's TmaxSoft To Expand Presence In Malaysia & Thailand

By Massita Ahmad SINGAPORE, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- TmaxSoft, the largest independent software company in South Korea, aims to expand its presence and set up offices in Malaysia and Thailand. "We will be actively investing in both people and business operations in these high growth markets in order to service our clients better," TmaxSoft Singapore Managing Director David Kim told Bernama. However, Kim did not reveal the amount of investment or when TmaxSoft's expansion plan would take place. He said last year was a rewarding year for TmaxSoft with strategic customer acquisitions in both the public and private sectors. "For the past two years, our products have been well received across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and we want to keep this positive business momentum going by investing in more markets in ASEAN," he said. On plans for public sector penetration in Malaysia, Kim said TmaxSoft had successfully penetrated the public and private sectors and built up good relations not only in Malaysia but across ASEAN in 2016. "This year, we will see more customers from the public sector adopting solutions like ours to manage their databases using high performance systems that will be cost-effective," he said. Kim said enterprises in both private and public sectors are constantly seeking alternative solutions to address issues within the database management systems. "It is to address their organisations' major pain points namely cost management, productivity improvement, agility and supportability of their information technology (IT) systems. "Alternatives such as open-source technologies have become a high priority for government agencies as they look to control spending while delivering high performing, secure, flexible, and scalable solutions for government IT groups. "TmaxSoft can provide this alternative operating system for those that are compatible with their legacy systems," he said. Kim said TmaxSoft's aim for 2017 would be to support businesses to take advantage of the fast-moving trend and offer them viable alternatives to modernise their infrastructure to support the new demands of digital business and convert all legacy systems to cloud. He said Tmaxsoft was looking to provide their cloud technology solutions to Communication Service Providers (CSPs) like telecommunications companies to better service their customers compared with solutions that legacy players provided. "We are constantly looking to collaborate with more CSPs to provide our solutions and expertise so that the industry has alternatives to choose from. "The presence of TmaxCloud puts pressure on vendors like Amazon and Google to provide better services for enterprises and customers who are looking for an integrated cloud platform. "Cloud technology strategies offer options to Chief Information Officers and Chief Technology Officers to manage unsustainable overhead stares," he said. TmaxSoft is a global software innovator focused on infrastructure and data modernisation with solutions. Founded in 1997, TmaxSoft have over 800 employees in 12 strategic centres worldwide with its US headquarters for sales, service and customer support located in Chicago. --BERNAMA
