SP Phase 12 refining capacity at 60 mcm per day

Tehran, Dec 18, IRNA -- Gas refining from Phase 12 of the South Pars (SP) Gas Field in Bushehr province reached 60 mcm per day. Rasoul Fallah-Nejad, manager of Phase 12 development project, told IRNA this was achieved with the launch of the fifth gas sweetening train of the refinery. 'Currently, the phase's platforms B and C produce 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Platform C of the phase is to become operational during December 22-January 20,' he said. He added that the sixth gas sweetening train of the refinery will go on stream during January 21-February 19. Fallah-Nejad said the fifth gas condensate consignment of the refinery amounting to 1.2 million barrels was loaded and exported a few days ago. “So far, 5.7 million barrels of gas condensates have been exported from the phase,” he said. With the completion of the development project, 3 billion cubic feet of sour gas will be pumped into the national network daily. Phase 12 is the South Pars' biggest phase, the development of which is underway by Petropars Company. The phase consumes daily 15,000 cubic meters of water and 100 megawatts of electricity. The South Pars Gas Field, whose development has been divided into 24 phases, is located in the Persian Gulf and straddles the maritime border between Iran and Qatar. It is estimated that the Iranian section of the field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of condensates in place./end
