Specialised Marketing Mission To Mauritius Nets Sales Of US$18.74 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- The specialised marketing mission (SMM) to Mauritius, in May, generated sales of US$18.74 million (RM71.47 million) from 576 business meetings. The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) said in a statement, that 34 Malaysian companies participated in the SMM with 50 business representatives. Products that generated sales include building and construction materials, disposable medical and electronic devices, renewable/green technologies, food and beverages. "The mission was a follow-up to one held in March 2014," said Matrade Johannesburg Trade Commissioner, Norhaliza Halid. Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Mauritius in 2014 was at US$94.59 million (RM360.75 million). Exports to Mauritius last year stood at US$92.48 million (RM352.98 million) and imports at US$2.03 million (RM7.77 million). --BERNAMA
