SPIEF 2018 to host Russian-African business dialogue

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Business discussions between Russia and Africa are planned to take place within the framework of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018’s business program, stated Roscongress, the organizer of the forum. Special attention should be paid to the African continent due to the celebration of two important dates during the forum - Africa Day and the 55th Anniversary of African Unity - noted Presidential Advisor and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum Anton Kobyakov. "Economic cooperation between Russia and African countries has been steadily on the rise over the recent years. In particular, an upward trend has been noted in the sphere of trade with Ethiopia, Cameroon, Angola, Sudan, Zimbabwe and other countries," Kobyakov added. "I am confident that Russian-African cooperation in the course of SPIEF, one of the biggest economic forums in Russia, will cultivate trade and economic relations, as well as boost investment activity." The Russian-African business dialogue has been held within the framework of SPIEF for two years in a row. This event raised significant interest among Russian, African and international entrepreneurs, African governments and state institutions. The Roscongress Foundation - SPIEF’s organizer - was founded in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential and strengthening the country’s image by organizing conventions, exhibitions, and public events. The Roscongress Foundation develops substantive content for such events, providing companies and organizations with advice, information, and expert guidance, and offering comprehensive evaluation, analysis, and coverage of Russian and global economic agendas. It offers administrative services and promotional support for business projects and helps to attract investment, including in the form of public-private partnerships. Read more
