Strategic document on enhancing EAEU integration to be drafted by yearend, says EEC minister

MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. The draft of strategic document on enhancing integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be submitted for consideration of presidents of member-states by the end of this year, Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics Tatyana Valovaya told a press conference on Monday. "We plan to present the draft of strategic document on enhancing integration through 2025 by the end of this year," she said. Heads of EAEU member-countries reached an agreement to prepare the document last December, the minister said, adding that she discussed paperwork-related issues at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas last week. "We discussed specific proposals that Belarus has, and the ways to quickly and consistently lift barriers, to reduce restrictions, to tackle more actively the tasks mentioned in the treaty (on setting up the Eurasian Economic Union - TASS)," she noted. According to Valovaya, the issue is particularly about formation of gas transport tariffs and creation of a common EAEU gas market by 2025. "We have to boost scope for the decisions we take at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union. Many things are methodological, and if they are decided on at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union instead of the national level, that will probably help solving the issues pointed out by Belarus," she explained.
