Structure of Russian-Chinese ties in energy, space areas has improved, says commerce ministry

BEIJING, April 18. /TASS/. The structure of cooperation between Russia and China in the areas of trade and economy has notably improved over the past several years, first of all in the areas of energy, aerospace and infrastructure projects, Spokesman for China’s Commerce Ministry Gao Feng said on Thursday. "The structure of cooperation between Russia and China in the areas of trade and economy has demonstrated a substantial progress as trade serves as a basis, while big strategic projects play the role of a motivating factor, and cooperation at the level of regions of the two countries contributes much to the whole process," he said. Apart from energy, including power sector, the Russian-Chinese ties in aerospace area and in the field of infrastructure projects are expanding. The spokesman noted that last year when mutual trade turnover between the two neighbors first set a record of $107.6 bln, has become a landmark for strengthening trade and economic ties between the two states. "That indicator demonstrated annual growth of 27.1%, a level higher than that of all key partners of China," he emphasized. Read more
