Sukiya Restaurants in Malaysia Acquire Halal Certification

Tokyo, Nov. 27 (Jiji Press)--All four of Sukiya "gyudon" beef-on-rice restaurants in Malaysia have acquired halal certification, Japanese operator Zensho Holdings Co. <7550> said Thursday. Sukiya is the first Japanese gyudon chain to become halal certified in the Southeast Asian country, according to Zensho. A local processing plant was halal certified in July 2013. The company is currently applying for halal certification in Indonesia after opening its first Sukiya store there in September. END
