Sultan Qaboos Visit To Tehran To Focus On Economic, Energy Co-op

Tehran, August 25, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said the visit to Tehran of the Omani Sultan Qaboos is to focus on economic cooperation as well as issues pertaining to energy. Talking to IRNA, he said the Omani King is to arrive today. Noting that the Sultan will be the first foreign guest to meet the new Iranian President Hassan Rohani, he said he will be accompanied by his ministers of foreign and cultural affairs. During his stay, Sultan Qaboos is to have meetings with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Rohani, Araqchi added. According to the spokesman, he will discuss international and regional issues such as the latest developments in Syria and Egypt with senior Iranian officials./end
