Super Bus service on Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Chiang Mai routes

BANGKOK, July 13 (TNA) -- Transport Co launched its Super Bus service on Bangkok-Phuket and Bangkok-Chiang Mai routes on the occasion of its 88th anniversary on July 13. Jirasak Yaowatsakul, President of the state enterprise, said the new service on the two routes were aimed at promoting domestic tourism and added to its debut on the Bangkok-Sakon Nakhon route that started last year and was warmly welcomed. The Tourism Authority of Thailand supported the project by choosing the destinations for tourism promotion and designing Super Bus vehicles. Super Bus vehicles are 15 meters long and its services include seats with electrical massage devices, free Wi-Fi, batter-recharging outlets, and bus attendants wearing local costumes and speaking local dialects. Super Bus vehicles do not stop over for a meal to ensure quick trips. Super Bus operates two round trips a day on the two new routes. On the Bangkok-Chiang Mai route, buses depart from both ends at 9pm. On the Bangkok-Phuket route, buses leave Bangkok at 5.30pm and Phuket at 7pm. Mr Jirasak also said that Transport Co would move passenger vans and small buses from the Mo Chit bus terminal to a new terminal on the opposite on Aug 1 to relieve congestion at the Mo Chit terminal in Chatuchak district of Bangkok.
