Taiwan Expo to debut in Thailand

BANGKOK, Aug 17 (TNA) --The first Taiwan Expo is set in Bangkok late this month, to show off Taiwanese technologies, startups and e-commerce with estimated sales worth at least US$70 million. Felix H L Chiu, executive director of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), said the exposition would be organized by the Department of Foreign Trade, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, TAITRA and Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau. The exposition will present the products and technologies of Taiwan and support trade cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand including partnership among startups of both countries. The exposition will include the Taiwan Digital Commerce and Startup Forum where leading e-commerce operators and startups from Taiwan will share their experiences with Thai counterparts. The visiting Taiwanese operators will include those in ticketing, hotel reservation, online live coverage and auction, remote health service and 3D printing businesses. The Taiwan Expo 2018 will gather 250 operators in seven sectors namely smart city technology, green technology, health technology, cultures and arts, tourism, farming technology and good living technology. Taiwan has organized Taiwan Expo in India, Indonesia and Vietnam. Each of the expositions attracted about 18,000 visitors. Taiwan Expo 2018 in Thailand is expected to welcome 30,000 visitors and post sales worth US$70-100 million. The exposition is set at Event Hall 99 of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) on Aug 30-Sept 1. (TNA)
