Talks with Russian energy minister help elaborate new cooperation formats - Venezuelan, Ecuadorian foreign ministers

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Foreign Ministers of Venezuela and Ecuador, Delcy Rodriguez and Ricardo Patino, said on Thursday their Moscow talks with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak were positive. "The talks were very positive," Rodriguez told journalists. "They have helped to make progress in elaborating new formats of cooperation." Patino, in turn, said that talks focused on the prospects for the development of the global oil market, cooperation between countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries /OPEC/ and countries that are not members of this oil alliance. "We agreed to continue consultations between our countries and with other states on technical and political matters," the Ecuadorian foreign minister said. Patino said the visit to Russia, a major player on the global oil market, was very successful. The Venezuelan and Ecuadorian foreign ministers expressed their support to Russia on the issue of Western sanctions. "We categorically condemn anti-Russian sanctions," the Venezuelan foreign minister stressed. Read more
