TAT promotes "green tourism"

BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting the "green tourism", in which public campaigns on the "3Rs" concept have been launched. TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications Tanes Petsuwan told journalists that under the TAT's 3Rs campaigns, both Thai and foreign tourists have been encouraged to help reduce, reuse and recycle products made from plastic in the country. "The TAT's 3Rs campaigns are aimed to create the awareness on the environmental protection among international tourists in Thailand in order to make a "positive change" towards the sustaintable domestic tourism in the long run", Tanes said. According to the TAT deputy governor, the "3Rs" campaigns have been first launched in all activities run by TAT. The TAT deputy governor stated that such the "green tourism" campaigns will later be expanded to all other tourism activities and sites concretely across the Thai Kingdom. (TNA)
