Telkom Set Target For Delima Money Transfer Service In Taiwan

Surabaya, E Java,July 21(Antara) - Publicly traded telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia said its target for money transfer through "Delivery Money Access" (Delima) in Taiwan would reach up to Rp70 billion this year. The service was only launched in Taiwan earlier this year. Telkom`s Director of Enterprise and Business Service Muhammad Awaluddin said the state telecommunication company cooperates with Indonesia Delivery Express (Index) to launch the Delivery Money Access (Delima) service in Taiwan. "This year, the Delima service is set to chalk up transactions totaling around Rp300 billion with Hong Kong market contributing Rp200 billion , Malaysian market contributing Rp30 billion and the rest from Taiwan," Awaluddin said here on Monday. He said so far this year transactions in Hong Kong already reached Rp120 billion. In seeking to promote Delima, Telkom has acted much as a "platform provider", receiving a commission of only 0.5 percent of the transaction, he said. Delima has two types of service -- remittance and "payment point online", he added. Last week, Telkom through its subsidiary Finnet Indonesia launched Hong Kong Delima Card to promote its international remittance business. In launching the card, Finnet Indonesia cooperated with a leading remittance company Chandra Remittance Hong Kong. The Delima card constitutes an expansion form of the "Mobile Delima EDC" service, which was launched earlier. "Expansion of the service was a result of a synergy between the Telkom Group -- Finnet Indonesia and Telkom International (Telin Hong Kong) -- and Chandra Remittance to facilitate remittance by Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong," Awaluddin said. Each remittance customer in Hong Kong has been registered as a member and is given the Hong Kong Delima membership card, he said. All data of the members and the recipients of the remittance in Indonesia are shown in the card, he said . The customers or the senders of the money holding the Hong Kong Delima membership card need only to give the identities of the recipients and the amount of money to be sent, he said. "The remittance would be easy and fast. Our target is that by the end of this year we would have 15,000 members," he added.
