Thai Businessmen Support Government in Organising Oversea Roadshows

UDON THANI, Nov 28 (TNA) - Although the overall global economy is still weak, business entrepreneurs have strong confidence on Thai economy after the government has issued several economic stimulus measures and are prepared to support the government in organising oversea roadshows, said Isara Vongkusolkit, chairman of Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand. Mr. Isara made his remarks while the Board of Trade of Thailand jointly organised a seminar with the provincial Board of Trade offices in the northeastern province of Udon Thani. Results of the three-day seminar, ending Sunday, will be submitted to the government through Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak. Mr. Isara said during the opening of the seminar that global economy is still sluggish while advanced technology and security threats have forced Thailand to be well prepared for survival. He said the public sector, in particular, must adapt by implementing innovative technology along with the use of research with an aim of increasing value and also to bolster competitiveness. Private businessmen must use concepts and ideas conveyed by the new generation for their own survival and in moving the national ecomy forward, he said. Deputy Interior Minister Sutee Markboon, meanwhile, said his ministry has amended business regulations to facilitate businessmen and the government is prepared to continue supporting them in future.(TNA)
