Thai Cabinet nods for new economic stimulus package

BANGKOK, August 5 (TNA) - The Thai Cabinet has approved a new economic stimulus package in order to boost the national economy in the rest of this year. Thai Commerce Minister General Chatchai Sarikulya told journalists on Wednesday that the Cabinet, at its weekly meeting on August 4, approved the new economic stimulus package, in which a 6-billion-baht state budget will be allocated to the Ministry of Interior within September to create more jobs for people nationwide. General Chatchai foresaw that the new measure should cushion the Thai economy subsequently through people’s rising purchasing power and consumption. (TNA)
