BANGKOK, July 27 (TNA)- The University of Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Economic and Business Forecast Centre has projected that the Thai economy could expand between 4 – 5 per cent during the second half of 2014 due to improving local politics. The centre’s director Thanawat Polvichai said that the state could prepare its budget expenditure for the fiscal 2015, starting this October 1, in time, while local economy would recover due to rising private investment. Tourism industry is also expected to improve because of the current peace. Thailand’s exports this year are projected to grow about 3 per cent due to recovery of the global economy, Mr Thanawat said. He added that his centre has forecast that the country’s economy would grow more than two per cent this year. (TNA)
